Roy Cooper is making North Carolina better. His work tracks down sex offenders, violent criminals and fraud. He’s fighting for lower utility rates and to stop telemarketers. In the legislature, he reduced class sizes and raised teacher pay. Nationally he’s known for righting the Duke Lacrosse case and stopping the TVA from pumping air pollution into NC.

Cooper has won every election he has ever entered. In 2008 he won more votes than anyone in state history.

Born and raised in Nash County, Roy attended public schools and worked summers on the farm. Sunday school teacher. Middle school tutor. Husband, father of three grown daughters.
