Congratulations to Megan Carroll the winner of Lincoln County Democratic Scholarship. Ms. Carroll has shown incredible leadership in the community and has many exceptional accomplishments. We are proud to award her with this scholarship. Megan graduated from Lincolnton High School and will attend the University of Chapel Hill this fall. Ms. Carroll found her niche in music and theater at school and in community groups. She was active in LHS Singers, LHS Dram Club and was inducted into the Tri-M Honor Society. She held major roles in Sister Act, Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz and Bye, Bye, Birdie. Beyond her keen interest in the arts, Megan was President of the LHS Student Body, President of the National Honor Society and Captain of the Cross Country team. She was also inducted into the Beta Club and National Technical Honor Society. Megan was honored as a Morehead Nominee, a Martin Luther King Essay Award winner, a Junior Marshall and a Team Before Self award for Cross Country. She also served on the City of Lincolnton’s Student Advisory Council and a Hesed House Board Member. She earned her Girl Scout Gold Award in 2023. Megan was formerly a sales associate for 7th Moon Boutique and is currently employed at Local Roots and Provisions. Thank you Megan, we wish you all the best in your future endeavors!
