Vote By Mail - Absentee Ballot<\/div>

This is a 2 step process: 1) Request the ballot. 2) Submit your voted ballot.<\/strong><\/span> DO BOTH STEPS AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Requesting an Absentee Ballot can now be done in either of TWO ways:<\/p>\n

1A) Use the -NEW- NC Absentee Ballot Request On-Line Portal<\/div>
This portal provides a secure way to request an absentee by mail ballot which will be mailed to you<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n

The deadline to submit a request for the November 3, 2020, general election is 5 p.m Tuesday, October 27. The Absentee Ballot Request Form may be submitted to the Lincoln County Board of Elections (BOE) – by mail, in-person, by fax, or by email.<\/p>\n

Using either method, if there is a problem with your request, the BOE will return it to you and you can resubmit using either the paper form or the new portal. The BOE will begin to mail out Absentee Ballots around September 4<\/span>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

2) Completing and Submitting Your Ballot<\/div>
Once you have received your Absentee Ballot, you can use it to vote at any time. Follow ALL directions. Two ways to submit your ballot - via USPS or in-person (only by yourself or a \"near relative\" at the Lincoln County BOE or at any open One-Stop Early Voting location, but NOT at Election Day voting locations). Must be submitted by 5 pm on Election Day (November 3).
